I wanted to make a brief statement about the term ‘flare-up’. It’s so much more than an increase in pain or symptoms; regardless of how manifold that increase is. It’s more akin to getting caught in the worst hurricane to ever hit the Earth, and trying, with all your might, to hold on to at least one thing that seems as though it will stay rooted to the ground for the duration. Debris batters your body and crushes your bones, hundred mile per hour winds are trying to rip you from the face of the planet, and into the ether. How you lived before this is a distant memory – a myth, even. If you will survive long enough to live afterwards, is a question you don’t have the luxury of asking. The Storm is everything. The Storm owns you.
I’m just starting to recover from a flare-up (one so bad that I nearly had to sacrifice this for a heated pillow and a minor pain-pill overdose – anyone who understands just how much Hockey means to me will know how big a deal that is…), so my post isn’t quite ready to be viewed. In lieu of that, here’s a video from the Chronicles youtube channel which explains everything in a less morose way than I do… Until next time.
Don’t waste your spoons.
