Ever heard the phrase “The only disability in life is a bad attitude”? It looks implies that everything, every damned thing, is merely a case of mind over matter. But I will hazard a guess that none of the people who espouse this damaging idea have ever tried to drag a dialysis machine up the side of Everest.
This idea is even more prevalent when it comes to invisible illnesses. When it’s not immediately apparent why we can’t climb that mountain, it’s assumed that we simply aren’t trying hard enough.
So, why not wear that ‘Bad Attitude’ with a certain amount of cynical pride?
